Our Story

Doris the Exploris

This is Doris the Exploris!

She is an 96' dodge regency conversion van. We found her parked in front of an old tattoo shop in a run down part of town. At the time were traveling a lot for mountain bike races and thought that it would be easier on us. You see its a lot easier to enjoy places when you are not testing the limits of your marriage every month setting up a tent with no directions. Doris and Orvie where the only previous owners of the van. They were married 60 years and when Orvie passed Doris put the keys on the hook. She sat untouched for a few years when we came across her with her sun faded 90 paint job. She's is a bit older and rough around the edges but when you look past her dated exterior, open her doors, and the sunlight hits her amber lacquered cabinetry and limousine lights you can see her timeless beauty. On the sun visor rests a rusted angel pin that reads "Guardian angle protect my passengers and all who pass by. Keep us safe under your watchful eye". Doris has allowed Lucas and I to vanish into the wilderness, create experiences, and meet amazing people. From traveling photographers teaching me astrophotography in the outskirts of Utah to a family of 6 raising their children based on love and escaping the crutches of societal standards. This is how we van-ish! How do you?Â
